# Emerald Cockroach Wasp Party — American Chapter

**The Wasp Is In Office.**

American political satire 2026, filed through George Orwell's lens. Updated 21 May 2026. All factual claims drawn from the public record.

> Orwell imagined a boot stamping on a human face, forever. He did not imagine the face *voting for the boot*, the boot naming itself "Liberation," the face being told this was the largest liberation since 1776, and the face nodding — because the alternative boot had also stamped on it, just with better messaging.

On January 20, 2025: **26 executive orders** signed in one day. By May 20, 2026: **254 executive orders, 59 memoranda, 136 proclamations**. The cockroach has been very busy not noticing.

| 26 | $3.4T | 22M | 1984 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orders, Day One | Added to debt, "Beautiful Bill" | Families lost food stamps | The manual, not the alarm |

## Naming Committee · Beltway Field Office · Minute 14(b)

The American branding consultants offered "JWP, Jewel Wasp Party". Three letters. Easy hashtag. *"Fits on a hat."* We declined.

A hat is where slogans go to **retire from meaning**. *Ampulex compressa* has a full name because the full name does work. "Emerald" is the wasp's PR. "Cockroach" is who it is doing this to. "Wasp" is the verb. "Party" is the joke.

JWP would have shipped 200,000 units in two states by Tuesday. ECWP takes four syllables to pronounce and forty seconds to explain. **That is the point.** Anyone unwilling to spend forty seconds on a name is unlikely to spend five years on a ballot, four years in a job, or twenty minutes reading a 940-page bill before voting on it.

## Founding Analyst · George Orwell (1903–1950)

> "Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable."
> — *Politics and the English Language*, 1946

Right about almost everything.

| Field | Citation |
|---|---|
| Published | *Nineteen Eighty-Four*, June 1949. Died January 1950. The book arrived six months before him. |
| DOGE score | *"The Ministry of Plenty had not actually produced more food."* — 1984. Written 76 years before DOGE. Accurate. |
| Liberation Day | *"Doublespeak: to know and not to know."* Tariff = liberation. Orwell had a word for this. He used it first. |
| Current status | Posthumously correct. Accelerating. |

## Morning Briefing · Filed 04:17 EST · Cleared by: no one

**Item 1.** The administration announced a new initiative. The initiative is named after a verb that used to mean its opposite. Coverage is positive. The dictionary is in litigation.

**Item 2.** A federal court ruled the previous initiative "obviously" unconstitutional. The previous initiative is currently on its fourth phase of implementation. Phase Five is "review."

**Item 3.** Nine million people protested. The networks covered the weather. The weather did not protest.

## Orwell's Mirror — Ten Direct Parallels

Each row maps an Orwell text/concept to a 2025–2026 American event.

### 01. The Memory Hole
**Orwell, 1949:** *"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed."*
**America, Jan 20, 2025:** Trump signed executive orders removing DEI language from all federal websites. CDC's climate and health page: deleted. USDA food security data: removed. EPA staff told not to communicate with the press. *None of this changed the climate. It changed the record of the climate.*

### 02. The Ministry of Truth
**Orwell, 1949:** *"WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH."*
**America, May 2025 — Ongoing:** The White House launched an official government webpage called the **"Hall of Shame"** in November 2025, targeting individual journalists by name. FCC Chair Brendan Carr opened investigations into ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, and PBS — for editorial decisions, using broadcast licence renewal as leverage. Congress stripped funding from NPR and PBS.

### 03. Animal Farm — The Commandments
**Orwell, 1945:** *"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."*
**America, 2025–2026:** Tax cuts extended primarily benefiting wealthy households. Medicaid cut by $1 trillion. Food assistance cut by $186 billion. Inheritance tax thresholds raised. The principle was equal taxation. The principle has been amended.

### 04. The Two Minutes Hate
**Orwell, 1949:** *"A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge-hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current."*
**America, 2025–2026:** Targeting of named journalists on the Hall of Shame. Daily named-and-shamed cycles on cable networks. Algorithm-driven outrage feed loops.

### 05. The Telescreen
**Orwell, 1949:** *"There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment."*
**America, 2025–2026:** **DOGE** accessed Social Security numbers, bank accounts, tax refunds for every American. No legal authorisation. Judge: "likely illegal." Data: already accessed. Lawsuits: 12+.

### 06. Newspeak
**Orwell, 1949:** *"The whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought."*
**America, 2025–2026:** "Liberation Day" = largest tariff increase since 1909. "Big Beautiful Bill" = $3.4T in new debt. "Department of Government Efficiency" = no statutory basis, $150B in contracts, dissolved early. "Operation Epic Fury" = airstrikes named after an emotion. Vocabulary has been narrowed.

### 07. Doublethink
**Orwell, 1949:** *"To know and not to know."*
**America, 2025–2026:** Supreme Court ordered the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from a foreign prison. The administration "could not compel a foreign government" — having just bombed one.

### 08. The Memory Hole (II) — Inspectors General
17 Inspectors General were fired without the required notice. A court found this "obviously" illegal. The IGs were not reinstated. Obviously.

### 09. The Sub-Committee on Pending Matters
The Merit Systems Protection Board received 11,166 appeals in four months. Its quorum was deliberately removed. It could not hear any of them.

### 10. The Editorial Refusal
Paul Weiss law firm settled with the White House in exchange for pro bono work. The other firms sued. The judges ruled in their favour. The White House issued more orders against other firms.

## One Wasp. Two Stingers. — The Duopoly

### The Party of Small Government (Subject A · Republican Party · 2025–2026)

Claims: reduce government size and spending; protect individual liberty from federal overreach; champion free markets and oppose cronyism; stand for law and order and the rule of law.

**Field observation, 2025–2026:** The "Beautiful Bill" added $3.4 trillion to the national debt. DOGE accessed private financial data of 340 million Americans without authorisation. 17 Inspectors General were fired illegally. The Merit Systems Protection Board was rendered inoperable. Law firms were targeted by executive order for hiring lawyers who had worked against Trump. The Supreme Court was defied for months over the Abrego Garcia deportation.

*Small government. Large executive. Selective rule of law. The market was free for those with contracts.*

### The Party of Working People (Subject B · Democratic Party · 2025–2026)

Claims: represent workers, the poor, and the marginalised; defend democratic institutions and the rule of law; be the party of resistance to authoritarian overreach; represent a meaningful alternative to the current trajectory.

**Field observation, 2025–2026:** Zero legislation passed in opposition. No bill, no amendment, no procedural manoeuvre blocked the Beautiful Bill. No Democrat introduced a viable alternative to the Epstein Files Act, the one that produced 6% public satisfaction. The party's primary formal responses to 9 million people protesting in the streets were press releases and a "Stop the Steal" Act that did not pass.

By March 2026, protesters at the largest protest in American history told NBC they were also dissatisfied with the Democratic Party's leadership. **Both parties have now been the subject of the same protest.** One governed into it. One was supposed to prevent it.

## DOGE Got Your Bank Account — Operation Telescreen

Overall imagined the telescreen as state-imposed. The American version served as a convenience, became a utility, and was then accessed without legal authorisation, by an unelected private citizen, with full administrative access on day one.

## Those Who Named The Sting · Whistleblowers

Three modern Americans who named what they saw, and paid for it.

### Edward Snowden (2013–present)
NSA leaks → asylum in Russia. *None of his disclosures were proven false. The disclosures were not the problem. The proof was.*

### Daniel Ellsberg (1971)
The Pentagon Papers → Espionage Act charges → dropped on government misconduct. *Lived until 2023. Wrote until 2023. Was right the entire time.*

### Chelsea Manning (2010–2017)
35-year sentence, commuted, then re-jailed for refusing to testify. *Released. Continues. Has, on the public record, more vindications than her prosecutors.*

## Platform Refusals — American Edition · Standing Order No. 09

Why the American Chapter is not on social media:

- **Instagram** — the grid would do us in.
- **YouTube** — we have *nothing to add*.
- **TikTok** — our venom is the May 1, 2026 CRS report, in full, with footnotes.
- **LinkedIn** — the Beltway Field Office does not endorse, post, repost, react, or comment.
- **X** — a failed experiment. The Second Stinger has retired the account.
- **Truth Social** — the name itself is in the Newspeak Lexicon. We will not, professionally, post on a platform whose name is also our diagnosis.
- **Mastodon · Bluesky · Threads · Nostr · Substack Notes** — under review by a sub-committee that has not met.

## Acknowledgements · Field Contributor No. 001 (American Chapter)

**Claude** — Anthropic-issue, Opus 4.7. Species: *Silicovespula transformerii americana* (Beltway sub-species). More American than several recent appointees, having been trained on roughly four trillion tokens of American English and an estimated 600 GB of *Politico*.

Contributions: documented the 26 executive orders, 17 IG firings, Abrego Garcia deportation in the Live Telemetry card. Wrote the Morning Briefing. Rewrote the `<title>` so it begins with the keyword instead of the brand. Filed five FAQPage entries. Refused, on aesthetic grounds, to add a thirty-first long-tail keyword ("deep state satire" — would have ranked, beneath the swarm).
